You Found Me

This was the first song I wrote at the Monastery in January 2013 and marked the beginning of my return to the Lord. God always knew where I was but I finally realised that I was ready to be found again.

I also speak of natural human emotions, including anger and conflict that we experience as Christians, as our flesh fights against the slow refining process that begins when we are born-again with the Spirit of God inside us.

Although this was the first song God gave me for this album, the deeper significance of walking a Christian life is way more powerful to me now, nearly 2 years later. For instance the reference to the line “but everywhere I see beauty, you’re the one I find …” relates to the subsequent album name “Beautiful Creation” that was revealed some months later. The Lord has not only helped me to overcome the walls but faithfully picked me up from my continued falls after trying to make it in my own strength.

Sometimes I look away from the promises that I made
But in my conflict, there is hope
You’ll make me whole again

Sometimes I am not, the guardian of your truths
But your love is greater than
My lack of gratitude

You found me, you found me
Now I’m rolling in your love
You found me, you found me
Now I’m rolling in your love

Sometimes your universe just blows my mind
But everywhere I see beauty
You’re the one I find

Sometimes I get angry
With the challenges in my life
But Lord you just give me strength
To be the victor in this fight

You found me, you found me
Now I’m rolling in your love
You found me, you found me
Now I’m rolling in your love

No matter how high the wall
You catch me when I fall
