Lord Have Mercy

Based on Psalm 61

This song is about crying out to God, asking Him to hear our prayers and to have mercy on us, as well as those not yet saved. I pray the Holy Spirit lifts the veils from the eyes of those still seeking answers, so that they can have understanding and clearly hear the word of God. Often enough, in order for us to be ready to hear His words, we need to be brought to a place where we recognise the need for Him. I believe God wants to hear our praying breath, our cries and our praise for Him. God’s power and promises are the rock, higher than us and although our hearts might feel frail, prayer can bring us into His presence and to a place of strength.

Crying, we are, crying
We are, crying for you

Let these eyes see
Let these ears hear
Let us know your word
Let these wings fly
Into your arms
Let this heart be pure

Lord have mercy, on this earth
Lord have mercy, let your voice be heard

Hear our cries Lord
From the end of the earth
As our hearts are faint

Lead us to the rock
Let us dwell in you
Bless us by your name

Lord have mercy, on this earth
Lord have mercy, let your voice be heard

Crying, we are, crying
We are, crying for you
